Last week, we hosted Collab Pitch Day — an opportunity for seven early-stage Connecticut ventures to pitch their ideas to investors and community members. Over 65 individuals filled the room to celebrate accessible entrepreneurship and the seven ventures.

All of these ventures had just completed the Collab Incubator — a 6-week workshop series where ventures received pre-seed funding, a mentor, free coworking space, and access to pro bono services. Additionally, we provided childcare, transportation, and interpretation services to any venture that needed them.

Through program like the incubator, we aim to make entrepreneurship accessible to support heart-powered, strength-centered leaders in our state.

We opened applications for this round of the Collab Incubator in November 2017. Here’s what happened:

We received 75 applications from 149 entrepreneurs. These ideas and entrepreneurs came from many different neighborhoods from all over New Haven and the state.

A group of incredible readers got together to select the seven ventures for Collab’s Winter cohort. Read more about each venture here.

We’re proud of these seven ventures that are working hard to make an impact on our state. Check out some pictures from the evening below!
